Palestinian Authority to present United Nations bid on Nov. 29

The Palestinian Authority will be making a bid to upgrade its United Nations status later this month.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas told the Arab League on Monday that the Palestinian Authority will apply to become a UN "non-member observer state" on November 29.

The BBC reported the request comes despite opposition from both the US and Israel.

Reuters wrote the Palestinians circulated a draft resolution last Wednesday which reiterated the Palestinian Authority's commitment to the "two-state solution" that allows "Israel and an independent Palestinian state would co-exist in peace."...
